1. Who we are

ShoppingScraper is a product of ShoppingResult, registered in the Netherlands at Smederijstraat 2, 4814 DB Breda (KVK registration). When we say “we”, “us”, or “our”, we mean ShoppingResult.

2. Data we collect

We collect personal data in the following ways:

  • Account registration -- name, email address, company name, and password hash.
  • Billing -- payment method details processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
  • Usage data -- API call logs, IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited.
  • Contact forms -- name, email, and any message content you voluntarily provide.
  • Cookies -- essential session cookies and optional analytics cookies (see section 7).

3. Why we process your data

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the ShoppingScraper service.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To communicate with you about your account or support requests.
  • To improve our product through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax, fraud prevention).

Legal bases under GDPR: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)), legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)), and consent where applicable (Art. 6(1)(a)).

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following categories of processors:

  • Payment processor -- Stripe (PCI DSS compliant).
  • Hosting provider -- infrastructure within the EU.
  • Email provider -- for transactional emails only.
  • Analytics -- privacy-focused analytics (anonymised, no cross-site tracking).

All processors are bound by data processing agreements that meet GDPR requirements.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we remove personal data within 30 days except where retention is required by law (e.g. invoicing records for 7 years under Dutch tax law).

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Data portability in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).
  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch DPA (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

7. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies -- required for authentication and basic site functionality. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies -- help us understand how visitors use the site. Set only with your consent.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or our cookie consent banner.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and regular security audits. Access to personal data is limited to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.

9. International transfers

Your data is processed and stored within the European Economic Area (EEA). Where a sub-processor is located outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
